Folder Marker - Changes Folder Icons 1.4
Folder Marker - Changes Folder Icons - Folder Marker is one of those little utilities that once you have it you wonder how you ever did with out it. It lets you mark your Windows Explorer folders in a couple of different ways, either using the context menu (right click) or by starting the Folder Marker program and browsing. It enables you to quickly change folder icons to indicate a priority level or project status (high, low, done, half-done, planned, etc.) or you can use it to mark a folder with a special icon or color of your choice. Folder Marker supports single and multiple folder selections, and includes an option to restore the original icon(s).
Do you fear that someone might unintentionally delete information necessary to you? Mark a folder, and other users will notice at once that that folder contains important information for you. Changing folder icons, Folder Marker will help you to cope with the standard yellowness.
Download Folder Marker now and change folder icons!

Folder Marker performed exactly as described and allowed me to colour code folders in Windows ME quickly and efficiently. A very useful enhancement to my system.

The free version does not seem to allow me to color code my file folder icons, which is all I really wanted to do.

Hello, I only had the opportunity to use Folder Marker for one application and I liked using it. One question, is there a way to change the color and use an icon at the same time on the same folder?

Tried it and works. The drawback is human memory that may not remember the colour codes, and it takes more work to change the progress folder markers. It is nice to play with, but not really efficient for work and performance.

hi i have tried your folder software and am not sure i will use it, due to the following.in vista when you have a document or have placed some thing in a folder it usually shows up and you can see somthing is in the folder. but when you change it to one of your type (which are very nice) the folder looks emty when you know there is something in there, if there is anyway of changing this I would def use it regards dave

I love the simplicity of the Folder Marker program! I work with elementary students in a computer lab setting, and younger students who cannot yet read often have a difficult time opening folders (they're all yellow and they can't read the folder names!). I am hoping having each of the folders on the desktop a different color will make it easier for them to follow my instructions (i.e., "Double-click the RED folder!).

change of life/ cambio de vida
Friends, about some years ago, while it was freeware I used Folder Style and that versatility was fantastic. In those days I knew the advantages of remarking the hyerarchy of my files or the (affinity between them)/category of their themes. Nowadays I searched in internet for a similar device and found yours. I thank you very much. It's easy to use, may be not "ah!ah!ah!" but it works for what I need: at a sight easily find.

I am using this program because I cannot find anything else, freeware, that is compatible with Vista. I am running it in XP SP2 compatibility mode. The reliability of actually performing is marginal, probably because I am using Vista Home Premium. I did not download V3.0 which is Vista compatible because I wanted freeware, not buyware. Maybe the buyware version, 3.0, works better. One thing that I hope was improved in the buyware version is the Multiple Folder selection. In V1.4 performing multiple folder conversions to ico files is clumsy. Previous entries have to be manually unloaded individually, should be a clear function. Another program that just colors folder has the right idea. Checking a box next to the folder instead of having to enter each drive link. Best of luck to the developer(s).

I wanted a utility to show different folders in different colours. This program does that admirably and intuitively. It is brilliant. This is a must-have. I would like more colours - particularly bolder colours, and a way to see colour's name for consistency of future use. The other folder icons are good. Would like instructions for editing my own and info on finding and using icons from the web. - I believe there is a link to other web icons somewhere.

After testing several other programs I find that this one is the easiest to work with!
